About

Hi everyone! I created this blog with the intention of getting my writing out into the world. I’ll start with telling a little bit about myself. The name of my blog, Behind the Kurtain, was a name inspired by my little cousin. When she was younger, she couldn’t say my name (Kirstyn) and would call me Kurtain, and it became a running joke with the family. I also thought it was quirky and fun, and would be a great name for my blog. I’m a 24 year old amateur writer (hey, why not be honest right?). Reading and writing have been my passions for as long as I could remember. I started reading at the age of 4 and started writing not too long afterwards. At the age of 5 or 6, I wrote 2 picture books for myself, “The Beach Bunny” and “The Happy House”. Also at 6 years old, I started reading the Harry Potter series, and quickly fell in love. In 7th grade, we had a math writing assignment in which we had to write a short story using geometrical shapes. My story was titled “Isosceles the Lost Dog”, and is still to this day one of my most memorable stories. I have always wanted to be a writer, and I think that assignment peaked my interest in writing even more. I have always enjoyed writing prompts, and how they get my creative juices flowing, and I am going to try to use one every day and create short stories for my blog. I am new at this whole blogging thing, so please bear with me as I get used to it. Happy reading!!   If you like my writing, like and share my page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BehindTheKurtain the more people that read and comment on my stories, the more encouragement I get to keep writing and making this the best blog that you have ever read.
